For our Spring 2022 campaign, Carhartt WIP has worked with the UK-based photographer Elliot James Kennedy, creating a series of images that brings the pastel-hued palette of the S/S22 collection to the fore.
With a focus on archetypal garments, such as the Single Knee Pant and Michigan Coat, Kennedy’s own idiosyncratic style lends additional texture, with painted elements and tape detailing applied to each image. Burner phones, books, and large-scale chess pieces, meanwhile, add a sense of bricolage to the final compositions.
Additionally, a series of short video clips has been created, evoking the same spirit as the still images. The soundtrack for these was made by Brian Nasty, a musician featured in the campaign.
The campaign expands on Kennedy’s signature style, who is known for his vibrant portrayal of British culture, from musicians and footballers to underground subcultures.
